In 2018, Kerry Hannon and Nanette Blandin, founder of the Nexus Institute, jointly developed the She Leads program. They designed the core agenda based on their backgrounds in personal finance and leadership education. Key planning principles included customizing the agenda for each location, recruiting local speakers whenever possible, and incorporating a variety of learning modalities that optimize learning by women.
The program, was launched in the State of Georgia with events in Atlanta, Tifton, and Columbus with the tremendous support of Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger and sponsor The Investor Protection Trust. Future events to be held in Augusta, Macon and Savannah. Other states including Iowa, Michigan and New Mexico, have expressed interest in the program and those events are now under development. Hannon and Blandin work as a team and are content partners to the state officials sponsoring the program throughout the planning, implementation and evaluation phases.
Women having conversations with other women to raise awareness of issues and challenges they face in securing, protecting and growing their wealth.
