Or have you retired already, but now are looking for part-time or full-time work opportunities  (AKA an encore career)?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You\u2019re not alone. While the idea of going back to work may seem counterintuitive, encore careers are becoming increasingly popular in retirement. In fact, according to a study by CareerBuilder, nearly 60 percent of workers who are age 60 or older anticipate looking for a new job after retiring.<br> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And it\u2019s not always about the need for supplemental income, says career expert<a href=\"https:\/\/kerryhannon.com\"> Kerry Hannon,<\/a> author of<a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Great-Jobs-Everyone-50-Updated\/dp\/1119363322\/ref=sm_n_ma_dka_US_pr_ran_0_1?adId=1119363322&amp;creativeASIN=1119363322&amp;linkId=ffa88365f3c34fc5be42ad50f6afed9b&amp;tag=kerrhann-20&amp;linkCode=w43&amp;ref-refURL=https%3A%2F%2Fkerryhannon.com%2F&amp;slotNum=0&amp;imprToken=I8GlX7QPf5Gsnfa0Dwsg2A&amp;adType=smart&amp;adMode=manual&amp;adFormat=grid&amp;impressionTimestamp=1558903979572\"> Great Jobs for Everyone 50+: Finding Work That Keeps You Happy and Healthy\u2026And Pays the Bills.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEven if someone has saved adequately, they may be concerned about rising medical costs, or they may want to push back Social Security, have a safety net, or just want to be engaged, involved in something,\u201d <strong>Hannon<\/strong> says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Even if someone has saved adequately, they may be concerned about rising medical costs, or they may want to push back Social Security, have a safety net, or just want to be engaged, involved in something,\u201d <strong>Hannon <\/strong>says.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p><br> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Besides, <strong>she adds<\/strong>, \u201cat first it may be fun to have time off, but given the longevity of today\u2019s retirement, they may be asking, \u2019What is my purpose here?\u2019 and \u2018How can I reinvent myself?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If so, <strong>she says <\/strong>you may want to do some soul-searching.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIf you\u2019re 60, you could have another 15 years to start down a full new path again,\u201d <strong>Hannon says.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxbusiness.com\/personal-finance\/3-easy-to-move-into-encore-career-fields\"><strong>Read full story here.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are three career tracks to consider if you are looking for your encore career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Consulting<\/strong><br> This is the first place to start, according to Christine Russell, senior manager of retirement and annuities at TD Ameritrade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSee if you can consult with your former employer, and do some freelancing within your respective career. You already have the skill set, so this is the easiest transition,\u201d Russell says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Hospitality<\/strong><br> Are you friendly? Good with people? Like to help others? Look no further than the hospitality industry, says Russell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis is an industry that is always looking for quality people,\u201d she says, especially for seasonal employment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOlder Americans are the perfect candidates,\u201d she adds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Tech<\/strong><br> And in the digital age, the opportunities for work-from-home gigs are endless.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIf you\u2019re more of a homebody, you can be at home in your office selling stuff on the internet,\u201d whether products or services, says Russell.
