I\u2019ll update and tweak as time goes by, but figured this was a terrific time to give you some tools for your search.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job-hunting sites for Older Boomers<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u3007. The AARP biennial list of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aarp.org\/work\/employee-benefits\/info-09-2009\/Best-Employers_Winners_2009.html\">Best Employers for Workers Over 50<\/a> is a good place to start. At the top of the most recent chart: Cornell University, First Horizon National Corp and National Institutes of Health. A new one is due out this year.<\/p>\n<p>. AARP\u2019s work site is filled with info on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aarp.org\/work\/job-hunting\/\">job hunting<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aarp.org\/work\/working-after-retirement\/\">working after retirement,<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aarp.org\/work\/self-employment\/\">self-employment <\/a>and more. I write a monthly column called <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aarp.org\/work\/experts\/kerry-hannon\/\">Great Jobs for Retirees <\/a>for the site.<\/p>\n<p>. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.encore.org\/\">Encore.org<\/a> is a site is published by Civic Ventures, a nonprofit think tank on boomers, work and social purpose. It provides free, comprehensive information that helps people transition to jobs in the nonprofit world and the public sector.<\/p>\n<p>. <a href=\"http:\/\/enrge.us\/\">Enrge.us<\/a>: The Employment Network for Retirement Government Experts helps retired government employees-federal, state and local\u2013 find new employment.<\/p>\n<p>. <a href=\"http:\/\/execsearches.com\/\">ExecSearches<\/a> Job board focuses on government, nonprofit, education and health openings.<\/p>\n<p>. <a href=\"http:\/\/execunet.com\/\">Execunet.com<\/a>: Network of senior-level retired executives<\/p>\n<p>. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/jobs?displayHome\">LinkedIn Jobs<\/a>. Search for jobs and contacts at potential employers at this social networking spot.<\/p>\n<p>. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.primecb.com\/\">Prime CB<\/a> \u2013Careerbuilder\u2019s section for experienced workers.<\/p>\n<p>. <a href=\"http:\/\/retiredbrains.com\/\">RetiredBrains.com<\/a> Art Koff, 75, a retired ad executive, is the dynamo behind this online job board that connects to thousands of jobs for for those over-50. It\u2019s also a resource center on other retirement-related issues, from continuing education to healthcare to dealing with grief.<\/p>\n<p>. <a href=\"http:\/\/retirementjobs.com\/\">Retirementjobs.com<\/a> Site is geared toward 50+ job seekers.<\/p>\n<p>. <a href=\"http:\/\/seniors4hire.org\/\">Seniors4Hire.org<\/a><\/p>\n<p>. <a href=\"http:\/\/workforce50.com\/\">WorkForce50.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Nonprofit websites<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ashoka.org\/\">Ashoka.org<\/a>: Ashoka Fellows are provided with living stipends, professional support, and access to a global network of peers in more than sixty countries.<\/p>\n<p>. <a href=\"http:\/\/boardnetusa.org\/\">Boardnetusa.org<\/a>: For individuals interested in board service. Might get your foot in the door.<\/p>\n<p>. <a href=\"http:\/\/bridgestar.org\/\">Bridgestar.org<\/a>: Nonprofit job board listings and more<\/p>\n<p>. <a href=\"http:\/\/jobs.change.org\/\">Change.org<\/a>: Search for jobs with nonprofit organizations; there\u2019s a specific section for experienced workers called \u201cSector Switchers<\/p>\n<p>. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.experiencecorps.org\/index.cfm\">Experiencecorps<\/a>: Experience Corps, an award-winning national program, engages people over 55 in meeting their communities\u2019 greatest challenges. 2,000 Experience Corps members tutor and mentor in 20 cities across the country, providing literacy coaching, homework help, consistent role models and committed, caring attention.<\/p>\n<p>. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.idealist.org\/\">Idealist<\/a>: This site, a project of Action Without Borders, lists job, internship and volunteer opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>. <a href=\"http:\/\/multimedia.peacecorps.gov\/multimedia\/pdf\/learn\/whovol\/Volunteering_50+.pdf\">PeaceCorps.go<\/a>v: Volunteering at age 55 + spot overseas in areas such as education, health, business, and information and communication technology.<\/p>\n<p>. <a href=\"http:\/\/philanthropy.com\/section\/Jobs\/224\/\">Philanthropy.com\/jobs<\/a>: listing of jobs primarily in foundations<\/p>\n<p>. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.seniorserviceamerica.org\/site\/index.html\">Senior Service America<\/a> Non-profit agency runs federally funded programs that put people 55+ into temporary or full-time jobs with local, state and federal government agencies<\/p>\n<p>. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nonprofitjobseeker.com\/\">The Nonprofit Times<\/a> has a fast-growing\u00a0 job board for jobseekers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>General information<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bc.edu\/research\/agingandwork\/\">Sloan Center on Aging and Work<\/a>. Boston College-based think tank conducts original research and maintains an extensive library on age-related subjects.<\/p>\n<p>. If you\u2019re curious about the occupations Northeastern University predicts will have the most job openings for older workers in the coming decade, check out <a href=\"http:\/\/www.encore.org\/find\/resources\/after-recovery-help\">After the Recovery: Help Needed<\/a>.
